Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon is set to be feted with the Generation Award at this Sunday's MTV Movie Awards.
The actress broke into Hollywood with roles in teen movies Cruel Intentions and Legally Blonde and has since gone on to star in period drama Vanity Fair and Johnny Cash biopic Walk The Line, for which she earned a Best Actress Academy Award.
MTV President Stephen Friedman says, "(Witherspoon is) one of the most versatile and accomplished performers of her time."
The MTV Movie Awards will take place at the Gibson Amphitheater in Los Angeles. Comedian Jason Sudeikis will host.
