LAS VEGAS - Just based on fighting skills, Michael Bisping is not an easy guy to fight. When you roll in the emotion the Brit seems to draw out of all his opponents, the adrenaline rush has to be managed or else.

Jason Miller couldn't do so and got walloped in a one-sided fight in the main event of the Season 14 "Ultimate Fighter Finale."

Standing, and on the ground, Bisping landed dozens of shots to the body and head of Miller on his way to a finish at the 3:34 mark of the third round.

The 'TUF 14' coaches nearly came to blows several times during the season. Miller got on Bisping's nerves and vice versa. The Brit even snapped during the weigh-in on Friday cursing at a booing crowd. Miller has the ability to get under anyone's skin, but he just didn't have the fighting skills in his tool box to compete with Bisping once he exhausted himself with an all-out first round.

Miller got the fight to the mat in that opening round and did a little damage, but when he couldn't get it down in the next two rounds he took a beating on the feet. Bisping's technical boxing is very good. He worked well behind his jab and when Miller tried his wild haymakers, Bisping countered with the right. By the end of the fight, Miller had an ugly mouse under his left eye.

The final round was borderline embarrassing for Miller, who's carved out quite niche in satellite radio and on television as the host of MTV's "Bully Beatdown." Miller immediately retreated to the cage in the opening seconds of the round where Bisping just unloaded 6-8 shots at a time. Miller tried one last sloppy single-leg takedown that failed and he just stayed on the ground.

Bisping went into overdrive and pummeled Miller with knees and punches to the side before the American settled on his back. He took more abuse there and then flipped to his knees. Bisping pounded away and the referee had to stop it.

GENEVA ? Syrian authorities cracking down on opposition protesters have killed at least 307 children, the United Nation's human rights chief said Friday, urging world powers to refer these and other allegations of Syrian "crimes against humanity" to the International Criminal Court.

Syria's President Bashar Assad ? trying to defeat an 8-month-old revolt challenging his autocratic rule ? faces widespread international condemnation and sanctions over the bloody crackdown. The U.N. says more than 4,000 people have died.

Navi Pillay, the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights, said new reports of violence in Syria reinforced the need for the Security Council to submit the situation in the country to the Hague-based court.

"In light of the manifest failure of the Syrian authorities to protect their citizens, the international community needs to take urgent and effective measures to protect the Syrian people," Pillay told an emergency meeting of the U.N. Human Rights Council in Geneva.

A draft resolution backed by African, European, Asian, Arab and American members of the 47-nation rights council calls for the establishment of a special investigator on Syria, but leaves open the issue of whether the Security Council, the U.N.'s most powerful arm, should refer the country to the ICC.

The council's session Friday comes amid mounting international pressure on Syria. The U.N. says the nation is on the verge of civil war, and the Arab League, European Union, Turkey and the United States have all approved measures to sanction the Syrian economy, which relies on oil and tourism.

Russia and China have held back support for the resolution. The two permanent members of the Security Council have condemned the bloodshed, but are resisting further international pressure on Syria.

Russia's Ambassador Valery Loshchinin, whose nation has sold arms to Syria, said Friday that opposition groups are being armed and organized from abroad.

"Now, we hear, unfortunately, that the conflict in Syria continues to be fueled by outside forces who are interested in further destabilizing the situation," Loshchinin told the council.

"Armed terrorist and extremist groups are being armed and organized, supplied with weapons and money from abroad," he said. "The situation in Syria must be resolved in strict observance of international law and the provisions of the United Nations Charter."

Turkey's Ambassador Oguz Demiralp said the nation has become a "major threat to peace and stability" and Assad should step down. "We want to see the bloody quagmire in Syria come to an end," he told the council.

British Ambassador Peter Gooderham ? whose nation is one of the Security Council's five permanent members with veto power ? told the AP that the sanctions imposed on Syria by the Arab League and its lead in calling for the special session were crucial for putting pressure on the Assad regime.

"We know that the situation on the ground is deteriorating," French Ambassador Jean-Baptiste Mattei told the AP. "So we have to fully mobilize all the instruments at our disposal, and the Human Rights Council is part of what we can do."

Mattei said France, another permanent Security Council member, supports referring the situation in Syria to the ICC and failure to do so would be "a pity and a shame for the international community."

Two other veto-wielding Security Council members, China and Russia, have usually blocked these types of actions saying that too much international pressure can inflame crises and Western nations are too eager to encroach on nations' sovereignty.

Pillay said her office had received reliable information that the death toll since the start of the eight-month uprising was now "much more" than 4,000.

"The Syrian authorities' continual ruthless repression, if not stopped now, can drive the country into a full-fledged civil war," she said.

An independent panel's report to the Human Rights Council this week said it found widespread evidence of "crimes against humanity" and use of excessive force against civilians.

The chairman of the international commission of inquiry, Paulo Sergio Pinheiro, a Brazilian professor, told the council Friday that the 307 children killed included 262 boys and 45 girls. He said November was the deadliest month so far ? with 56 children killed.

Syria's ambassador to the U.N. in Geneva, Fayssal al-Hamwi, responded that any U.N. action would only deepen the crisis and Pinheiro's panel "fell into the same trap" as other outside observers siding against the government.

"We strongly condemn the fact that the international commission on Syria was not objective in the report," he told diplomats. "The solution cannot come from the corridors of the international community."

U.S. Ambassador Eileen Chamberlain Donahoe and other nations likened the Syrian government's actions to mass atrocities.

"Rather than respond to the legitimate aspirations of the Syrian people, Assad and his inner circle assault a peaceful opposition with escalating violence and terror," Donahoe said.

"The Syrian government stokes fears in minority communities with propaganda about foreign conspiracies and domestic terrorism," she said. "The propaganda is fooling no one: the regime is driving the cycle of violence and sectarianism."

The city of McAllen, Texas, will provide on-line electric vehicle buses to its citizens for a cleaner and greener environment

Daejeon, Republic of Korea, December 1, 2011The Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) has reaped the fruits of its hard work in developing an innovative green technology that will benefit all industries, including public transit application. The technology is called "On-line Electric Vehicle (OLEV)," and not too soon, it will be a daily commuting transport in a city in the US.

OLEV is a pure electric vehicle, receiving electric power wirelessly via magnetic field from the road surface, under which power strips are buried. OLEV charges as it moves, thus no need of additional time and space for recharging.

For the first time in the US, OLEV will be made available to the public for daily use. The City of McAllen, Texas, announced on November 21, 2011 that the city was awarded with $1.9 million grant from the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT), through TIGGER III (Transit Investment in Greenhouse Gas and Energy Reduction) fund. The FTA selected McAllen's bus project from among 266 applications submitted to the TIGGER III Grant Program, which awarded $112 million to 46 projects nationwide. In addition to the grant, the city will match with $211,000 to support the OLEV project.

OLEV Technologies, Inc., a Massachusetts based start-up that commercializes OLEV (On-line Electric Vehicle) technology in the Americas, is responsible for implementing McAllen's OLEV project. KAIST granted the company an exclusive license to commercialize OLEV technology in March this year. OLEV Technologies, Inc. anticipates that the McAllen project will be launched in 2012 and completed by early 2013.

President Nam-Pyo Suh of KAIST said, "We are excited to learn that McAllen City will add OLEV buses to their public transportation services in order to make the city cleaner and greener and to improve energy efficiency. This is certainly an encouraging endeavor for other communities around the world to emulate. On our side, we will continuously perform research and development on OLEV's core technology applying the SMFIR (Shaped Magnetic Field in Resonance) principle so that we can expand its application to railway, consumer electronics, and other various industries."

Dr. Hikyu Lee, President and CEO of OLEV Technologies, Inc. said, "This project will demonstrate the overall effectiveness of using enroute-charging technology to create an effective 'electronic roadway', as well as the cost effective means of converting existing diesel buses into electric vehicles. We are delighted that our technology has been selected for funding to showcase the near-term and long-term benefits of electric buses via wireless power transfer technology, a zero emission green transportation solution."

According to Lee, this project will result in an annual greenhouse gas reduction of 289 tons of CO₂, with a total reduction in CO₂ of 3,455 tons over the lifetime of the operation of OLEV buses. Expected annual energy savings will amount to 2,596 Million BTUs, with a total 31,149 Million BTUs saved over the same period.

"Using the cutting edge technology to help our residents with transportation is very exciting," said McAllen Mayor Richard Cortez. "It is an honor to be selected for such a competitive grant, and we are very appreciative of our Congressman Henry Cuellar's efforts to secure these funds for McAllen. This is a big investment that will pay off for all of us," added Mayor Cortez.

KAIST initiated the R&D effort on OLEV in May 2009, and since then, various prototype vehicles including bus, sedan, SUV, and tram have been built and demonstrated. Upon successful completion of field tests, three on-line electric trams are commercially operating at a theme park in Seoul, South Korea, since July 2011. The fully electric tram, consisting of three cars, can carry up to 100 passengers per ride.
